来源:纽约时报、CNN、CNBC 🚨🇺🇸🇸🇴 OPINION: MINNESOTA’S MASSIVE, STATEWIDE SOMALI FRAUD MAKES IGNORANCE IMPOSSIBLE TO BELIEVE Somehow, in a state that tracks every pencil, a quarter billion dollars meant to feed kids just... disappeared. It started in 2020. A nonprofit claimed to serve millions of meals. Instead, they bought luxury cars and real estate. State officials noticed sketchy activity early, paused payments, even called the FBI. Then they un-paused the payments. Voluntarily. Meanwhile, the governor says he moved fast and didn’t know the full story. That’s weird, because his own agencies were in the middle of it. One even got sued. Another met with the scammers and called oversight racist. Whistleblowers say they warned people at the top. The feds are still digging. But it’s getting harder to believe the guy in charge was totally out of the loop. This wasn’t some backroom grift. Over 70 people have been charged. Prosecutors say it’s the largest COVID fraud in the country. That kind of scale doesn’t happen quietly. So how come he didn’t see a thing? Source: NYT, CNN, CNBC
